NEW YEAR’S EVE BALL
VoodooHoney Records & Noh Life

Two of Milwaukee’s hottest labels, the Noh Life Music Group and VoodooHoney Records, are joining forces to present a New Year’s Ball at Company Brewing in Riverwest.

“It’s the New Year’s Eve you’ve never experienced before,” says Jay Anderson of VoodooHoney Records. Anderson calls Noh Life and its leader, Christian Strehlow, Milwaukee’s premier electronic music producers.

The Lineup:
The Quilz
Bo Triplex and His Beautiful Band
Thine Queen Tut
Milo (Rapsmith)
Yung Zucchini

The Quilz are Becky Heck and Sage Schwarm who describe themselves at psychedelia, 60s Mod culture/Pop art early electronic music. Yung Zucchini, a popular festival DJ, will be spinning.

Bo Triplex and his Beautiful Band bring audiences funky, high energy good-time music led by the irrepressible bassist Bo Triplex himself. With their booming bass lines and ambitious story lines, Bo Triplex promises audiences, “We come to move your body and take you to the sky.”

Thine Divine Queen Tut returns briefly to Milwaukee over the holidays with this homecoming performance for her fans. The poetic hip hop artist recently moved to Brooklyn and she’ll light up the stage again here with her dazzling beauty and provocative phrasing. The power behind Queen Tut’s messages about her own liberation as a woman and an artist are evident in her uncompromising performances.

“The real ball drops after the ball drops,” says Anderson. That’s when Milo shows up.”
Difficult to classify and always ahead of trends, rap artist Milo’s has been lauded by LA Weekly: “His delivery is a rhythmic style of spoken word, and he references writers and philosophers as much as he does '90s Nickelodeon shows, and WWF wrestlers. Milo's music is honest and open, unpretentious and approachable. Though he'll namedrop Bertrand Russell, he's not trying to make you feel dumb, just suggesting you might like the guy's writing. In any case, it's not music for the passive listener.” Anderson calls Milo the “greatest up-and-coming rapper in the world,” and asserts that the nuances in his storytelling are unpresented.

Having crisscrossed the country, Milo is now rooted in Milwaukee and has entered a new stage in life, that as a father. This role has matured the rapper in ways he never expected and now audiences can expect to be enthralled by his newfound wisdom and perspectives.

Noh Life Music Group will provide DJ sets throughout the night.
Company Brewing is located at 735 East Center Street in Riverwest.
