The Kellogg PEAK Initiative, a Milwaukee-based non-profit organization, is thrilled to announce its partnership with Tia Richardson from Cosmic Butterfly, a renowned Milwaukee artist, to create a panel mural on the Southwest facing wall of PEAK's Milwaukee Facility located at 2480 W. Cherry St. in Tifenthaler Park. The mural painting event will take place on Global Youth Service Day on April 22nd from 10-2 p.m. PEAK is inviting anyone and everyone who is interested in contributing to the mural to join the event and make their mark on the community.
The project aims to bring PEAK participants, alumni, staff, and Midtown residents together to create a beautiful mural inspired by PEAK's Four Beliefs.
Tia Richardson has an impressive portfolio of murals all around the city, including Black Cat Alley, Sherman Park Rising, Milwaukee County Courthouse, University of Wisconsin Madison, Urban Ecology Center, Burnham Park, and many more. PEAK is excited to have her on board to lead the project and to work with community members to create a stunning mural that embodies the organization's core values.
The Four Beliefs that will inspire the mural are:
1. Every Living Being Has Inherent Value
2. The Community Is Better When Everyone Contributes
3. We Only Grow If We Are Honest About Our Mistakes
4. Everyone Has The Power To Change Their World
This project is an excellent opportunity for community members to come together, create something beautiful, and learn about the Four Beliefs that are at the heart of PEAK's mission. PEAK hopes that the mural will serve as a reminder of the organization's commitment to empowering young people and creating positive change in the community.
