The 52nd annual Juneteenth Parade & Festival in Milwaukee is just around the corner, and TRUE Skool is thrilled to announce the highly-anticipated return of the Juneteenth Arts & Culture Area. Following the success of its debut in 2022, this dynamic and interactive creative space is back to celebrate the significance of this year’s theme “I am Juneteenth” and the vibrant art legacy here in Milwaukee.

This year's Arts & Culture Area is expected to be bigger and better than the last, featuring a live public mural installation contest with citywide creatives competing for impressive cash prizes. We will have family-friendly activities and giveaways for all!

"At a time when Juneteenth has become a trendy corporate holiday, we are intentionally recognizing our local Juneteenth history as well as our current griots and visual storytellers," said Fidel Verdin, TRUE Skool Co-Executive Director & contact for the Juneteenth Arts & Culture Area. “We’re honored to facilitate this experience uplifting artists and we’re raising the stakes this year, it’s exciting!”
