Krypto - “Meditation” MUSIC VIDEO

As Krypto Kracc prepares for the release of his EP “Black Superman,” he releases yet another single and music video for “Meditation,” continuing the narrative of what a true hustler is made of. Started off by his previous releases “Hood Business” and “Dead Drop,” “Meditation” describes the importance of a Gangsta turned Businessman having the strength to turn the negatives of his life into a positive and the foresight to know that the struggle will not last forever. Krypto touches on moments where one may need meditation the most like dealing with envy from those closest to them to just needing to quiet their mind in order to perfect the next move. The visual shows him in two parallel settings- One is more glamorous, surrounded by bottle girls, money, and fellow businessmen. Then it cuts to a few shots of him on the block, reminding his audience not only of where he came from but the reason for his grind- to inspire and give back to his roots. Despite being granted opportunity after opportunity and getting closer to his goal of rolling with the big dogs, Krypto doesn't deny that he owes his stamina and business sense to his street smarts and is well on his way to being the hero that he aims to be.

The Great Journey - A.C. The Ruler, Nimbus Cool Collab + MUSIC VIDEO

Back in September of this year, a silver platter of music was served directly to the hip hop heads; from to the monotone, run-on, smooth delivery of bars on bars from A.C. The Ruler and Nimbus Cool , to the nastiness of the beat production and selection by A.C.’s producer- Since ‘93, “The Great Journey” is gold. The intro song “Catacombs” properly sets the tone for the entire EP and although that name may seem like morbid humor, the music video provides a simple yet figuratively relative perspective. On the surface this appears to be just another studio session between the two MC’s and their producer but the lyrics in relation to this visual describe a sense of generational responsibility, the lovely burden of becoming a beacon of light for the people; With a grey filter cleverly covering the entire visual, seemingly showing us their proclamation of this being history in the making, A.C. and Nimbus show to be comfortable and content despite the molding of this legacy having taken place in a small room, much like many of the greats of the past (hence the title of this track). “...The Legacy’s ensured even when enduring the pressure- No sweat, wipe the drip, work smarter and harder, excuse the leg room, I need it, they've been begging for bones, I'll break a leg before I lose my heart or let down my home….” Nimbus Cool spits just before a voice clip of 2021 NBA Champ Giannis Antetokounmpo closes out the song, briefly speaking on his mission to provide hope to the people. “Handheld,” although undeniably consistent of super star bars, is a salute to the producer [immediate stank face]; “...I be in the cut every day like my skin broke, the outside be okay but I like gettin it in mo’ they hatin’ in my face but it never leave my chin broke...” Another bar from Nimbus but WAIT!...A.C. the Ruler also dominates in his verse with lines like “...cant see me like Harry’s cloak, wrapped with a midwest tone, niggas is hella shady like Norton Oaks…..slippin’ we hittin’ slopes, hittin’ corners on hunnid spokes…” Your replay button will feel attacked...mine was. We get some melodic vocals in the chorus of the track “P.O.V.”, a mellow song about the necessary optimism and trust in the process that is needed to push forward as an individual. This song reassures their audience that all of the tools needed are already present within. Perseverance is a responsibility. Tell me how YOU feel about “ The Great Journey” Milwaukee.

B~Free - This Could be Us [Single/Music Video]

bf.jpg

PINK! PINK! PINK! And away we go! B~Free has been showing up and showing out with the hits. Earlier this year she dropped a House-style bop with recording artist Durand Bernarr called “Hate 2 Luv” which featured super dynamic vocals and range, but she didn't stop there. During the last week of August, B~Free released her first single “This Could Be Us” with a music video from her upcoming album (name unknown) anticipated to drop in 2022. Immediately, the video opens up classically with visuals, vocals, and instrumentation that takes us back to the early-mid 2000s. The scenery consists of nothing but pink; pink walls, pink desks, pink lockers, pink wigs, even all of the outfits are pink, and is complimented by melanated goodness. Only about 30 seconds are allotted for taking it all in before the 808s kick in and a dance break, choreographed by Shalome Unique, is introduced. The video then goes full ‘girl power’ mode. The theme of a ‘situationship gone bad’ begins to unravel as B~Free is confronted by her girlfriends at her locker (peep the CW magazine cameo) and moments of B~Free sitting in her room alone, going back and forth in her mind about cutting off her guy, are shown. “I cant keep on loving you {with} one foot out the door, and I  cant keep going all in if you aint ready for more….I sent a meme of how this could be Us, but you dont get it it, Cause you’d rather be on that stupid stuff than stay committed..,” is the language of today’s communication that many have adopted as a way of getting their point across in love; Goals is the word, but if the goals aren't mutual, then we have to make like B~Free and chuck it up. Tell me what you think about “This Could Be Us,” Milwaukee.

RahRopa - No Facade

If y’all came for the magic show you’re in the right place but the only illusion here is the way Rah is turning words into wonders, ain’t no fronting over here just that real sugar honey ice tea with his new single “No Facade”.

“Thinking bout money, need a bank roOoOollll” is the mood of the century cause man me too. If you’re ever just for some odd reason giving away a Benz I’m totally available for that position to accept! The flow so heavy and beat so hot we need oven mitts to take them joints out the oven *insert ooo wee meme here*, lyrics not too shabby either, he’s just over here serving us the whole buffet, you go boy!

Take a step towards your metaphorical bag by listening to this new banger and giving him a follow on his socials, it’s like having a bank roll but more of an ear and heart joy instead of a pocket joy but just as fun!!!

Ooka - Slide fa me [video submission]

How many of us have gone through a struggle? Safe to say it’s not at all easy and the only thing you could possibly do is do what you have to do and try to do what’s right for you and those around you.

Ooka tells his story through melody and truly opens up his heart in song, lets us have the chance to see him so vulnerable and we still don’t even know the whole story. Through all of the pain and sorrow there’s always a light on the other side. “Embrace the struggle & let it make you stronger. It won’t last forever”. And judging by taking a long hard listen to the lyrics that’s absolutely what it did for Ooka. The struggle is a piece of the story.

Give a listen and let us know what you think.

Virghost- IDGAF [video submission]

Looking for a new and improved way to tell someone you don’t care without seeming like you’re coming off too harsh while ALSO putting them on to some dope new music?? Send them Virghost’s fire hit, ‘IDGAF’. Coming in hot with slick lyrics that seem to just be spitting out his mouth with ease.

One word? Hard. Enough said?

Right off the bat the beat comes in swinging with the same energy as the visuals of the video. I don’t know what more you could possibly ask for. Just by tuning in to the lyrics you can tell Virghost is his most individual, independent and unique self. He DGAF!

Make sure y’all shoot him a follow on IG and listen to this track and tell us if he hit it outta the park with this one!

India and The Jones - Caught in the Middle

IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM! Is what archeologists will say when they discover India and The Jones’ new track ‘Caught In The Middle’ in 500 years. If you're a person who is looking for something new to lose yourself in that involves superb imaging and even more beautiful audio, I would highly suggest taking a peek at what they have in store for you here.

This work of art is the epitome of a programmatic musical presentation, if you looked up programmatic in the dictionary, this would be there. I can’t even lie, there were a couple times I thought I was watching a movie or a gameplay of someone, and there was a whole story behind it, it all just felt so nostalgic. Correct me if I’m wrong, but, this seemed to me to be a perfect mixture of Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Sims AND Winx Club all combined and I enjoyed all 3 minutes and 45 seconds of it, times 10 (because I couldn't hold myself to stop listening to it)! 10/10 would recommend to your best friend.

I couldn’t tell what was better, the lyricism and vocals filled with soul or the graphics and storytelling of the video that would put all Wattpad writers to shame, I guess you could say I was caught in the middle *wink wink*.

Gone ‘head and throw them a like and smash that subscribe button on their youtube channel: India and The Jones and follow their insta: @indiaandthejones.

JOSH JENKINS- CHOP WOOD, CARRY WATER [PROD.BY SPACECRIMEBEATZ] (Video Submission)

We needed to hear this one.

Sometimes you just have to do the work, put in the time, and feel the struggle.

Josh Jenkins is reteaching us this lesson with his track “Chop Wood, Carry Water”. The video shows Josh solo, just telling us what the “real” is. The practice of artistry here  is the subtle gems piecing together something we know to be fact: You have to live it out.

Where some for a quick fix, we respect this message with much more kudos.

Taiyamo Denku & Urban Legend - Not From New York prod by Bo Faat video by CTMFILMs

Hip Hop is now global and so is the impact from its places of origin. Including NYC. around here we have our own method of doing things but one must be in tune with other spaces to survive the ride.

This video from Taiyamo Denku & Urban Legend, “Not From New York”, plays up on that logic. Classic hip hop flows, production and street vibes.
