Reese - Good Sh*t ft. Cleo Fox (prod. More // Night)

Sometimes you have to listen to a song and let yourself feel the vibes.

In the song, "Good Sh*t" from artist Reese (formerly known as Ree$e), the uptempo dance track is both soulful and electric combining Reese's smooth melodies, Cleo Fox's quick-witted (and super steazy) rhymes over a More//Night production. The results.... an EDM track that even a hip-hop head will listen to.

Peep the track below and let us know what you think of Reese's new sound. We dig it.

Thane - Gravity [EP]

So we're starting to see a trend with some Milwaukee producers creating some amazing projects. This was no different for up and coming electronic producer Thane who has blown us away with his "Gravity" EP.

In the project, you can hear a heavy influence of alternative electronic, R&B as well as jazz, funk, and hip-hop. The three-track project takes us on a journey of love and loss while showcasing Thane's producing skills.

Listen to the project below and wait on "Topia" to be released mid-August.

Ekstoluke - The Diary of Lou Cabana

With some old funk samples, modern mixing and new age sound, we bring you producer Ekstoluke's first solo project, "The Diary of Lou Cabana."

As one half of the production duo Jazzward (3 time Miltown Beatdown finalists), Ekstoluke project is smooth, classic and makes you want to jump into an old school convertible, put your bass up and drive slow on Lake Drive. We dig it.

Listen to the sound of Ekstoluke's alias, "Lou Cabana" below.

Kyndal J. - QUEEN ft. Camb

When you grow up what will you Be? Who will you Be? What will you create?

These are questions we've all asked ourselves and will continue to ask ourself as we navigate through our lives and as we create the person that we want to be.

In Kyndal J.'s newest single, "Queen" featuring the homie Camb, Kyndal speaks on her future daughters path to who she will be. That she will make her proud, to say the least, and that her parents will remind her everyday of her worth.

Produced by Hakeem Paragon, the soulful song mixed with a Kyndal's soft and sultry voice and Camb's mid-song verse brings together a beautiful vibe and a song for the books (and maybe a future lullaby for parents around the world).

Listen to the track below and read more about Kyndal J. and one of her biggest supporters (her mom) in Issue Six: Behind The Scenes here

Queen is a reflection piece. It represents who I am today and who my daughter will be in the future. I want her to know that she is loved and that she is worth it. She is royalty! Her parents will love her and want the best for her and will lay down their life for her! With the love and knowledge that her parents give her she will grow up to be strong and confident in herself! Knowing her worth and believing in her purpose.

Simon Mustafa "#4theYOUTH" *COPYWRITE OFFICIAL DROP*

Simon Mustafa, the 18 year old PERSISTENT, yet ambitious young'n out of Milwaukee has come to CopyWrite for his official release of his 2 part project #4theYOUTH //#AboveItAll. Fresh out of the confines of high school, he hits his adult life running, trying to make a name for his self in the rising platform of local creativity that we call "The Movement". As he finds his voice as a young talent, he touches on more "youthful" (& superficial) topics such as women, drugs, money & sex, which is the basic repertoire for most artist his age. He still has alot of growing to do, but we like to see early strides for greatness. Even with that his execution creates quite a bit of interest. This is the first half of his project #4theYOUTH. Expect to hear, #AboveItAll (the second half) later this year.

Check out Simon Mustafa & tell us what you think. Does he have what it takes t be the next up on the thrown? You decide.

On his higher power kick as of late, Blizz McFly has come out with another, "man in his element" video for "My Divine Majesty's Request," off of his most recent project BLK Gold. The video features some cool live paint shots and of course a few trippy graphics. (We cant wait to see the visuals for his song "NUMBER ONE", also off his BLK Gold project... Whereeeeeee is that at yo'?) Watch it, and let us know what you think. Are you catching those subliminals'?

We saw it coming, Mike Regal "Premonitiions"

The “Premonitiions” of dope music, with deep awakenings all summer ‘16, has been embedded into our psyches for some time now. The prophetic, and intuitional contribution by Mike Regal, dropped earlier this week, is no exception.

We remember some months back, when CopyWrite interviewed Regal at his studio, how excited he was too be working on his own platform of self expression, behind the beat and on the mic. He joked around about how his “That so Raven”, thematic structure would call into question the realities, the possibilities and the execution of the city, culture, revelations and Regal’s own placement within the mix.

“Premonitiions” is a cleverly wound compilation of songs that peck at the pecking order. As head bobbing, and DAB provoking his beats may be, the swift movements between layered vocals and tempos are a bit hypnotic. Pulling at that 3rd eye(on the low) #WeSeeYou. Of course his production is clean, his samples are decorous in provocative pallets and the risk are very visible.

But what’s the point of going in if you're afraid to take a few shots.

Loves at first listen: “Business Man” (Prod. By Deb.On.Air) It's so vibey. The word delivery is so 90’s crisp and the corny phone call component shows some “cocky-humanity”. YUP! I made up a term.

Check out those features. The track list, hmmm see there is a method behind the madness, even with other producers. The collabo is heavy.

Is there something in the air?

Is it just me or is the laboratory theme showing its face more and more amongst MKE producers who are also lyricist? I'm just saying...this week...ok ok ok, I’ma let it go.

But the track, “Regal’s Laboratory” (Prod. By Lex Luther & Mike Regal), is the admission that Mike has finally found the perfect elixir and he does not plan on sharing it. So you might be getting a Regal beat, but he is not giving up the juice. Selfish? Nahhh survival.

Just peep game, or as Regal says it “Keep your eyes open.”

We are happy to see the “Premonitions” come to life and see great things forming in the near future.

Take a listen, leave a comment and let us know what you think Regal’s next move might be.
