The Story Collider is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to sharing true, personal stories about science. TSC believes now, more than ever, science is a part of everyone's lives and hosts storytelling events all around the United States, Canada, the UK, and New Zealand where scientists, journalists, comedians, and more share stories that critics call “stand-up funny and powerfully confessional” (Wall Street Journal).
The Milwaukee Launch will feature an eclectic array of stories from individuals of all different backgrounds.
Andrea Azarian, an educator & advisor within the city of Milwaukee, from MPS to UWM
Ed Wingard, father and poet who uses his art to speak on social justice issues with Public Allies, ACLU, and more
Tammy Kosbab, president of EDS Wisconsin, the nonprofit that provides support and resources to Wisconsinites about Ehlers-Danlos syndrome
Mikey Cody Apollo, author, poet and UWM graduate, who uses her platform to speak on life as a black woman in modern society
Anna ‘Mwgli’ Miller, the neuroscience graduate student and singer, shares her personal life experiences through her research as a student, as her music as an artist
This is the first Story Collider event to be presented in Milwaukee, WI. The night will be hosted by co-producers Nakeysha Roberts Washington & Genesis Renji, both Milwaukee residents. Nakeysha is an educator for high school students as well as veteran producer for TSC. Genesis Renji is a Milwaukee based hip-hop artist and joins TSC for his first time.
