Jewel’s Catch One

Doors: 7pm | Screening: 7:30pm

Jewel’s Catch One is a compelling film about the oldest Black Disco in the U.S and its founder Jewel Thais-Williams. The transformative space centered Black, LGBTQ and AIDS-impacted communities in LA for four decades. This disco was considered the Studio 54 of the West Coast. At the intersections of nightlife, fashion, activism, and escapism, the club provided a sanctuary for fighting discrimination and building community. Exclusive interviews with Sharon Stone, Thelma Houston, Evelyn "Champagne" King, Madonna, and most importantly, Jewel Thais-Williams
