How a local woman hopes to educate, encourage and empower others living with invisible illnesses
Debut Book “Fly Girl with Fibro” to be released
Milwaukee, WI, November, 2018- Catrina Clayton (pen name Trina Nicole) is set to release her debut book “Fly Girl with Fibro: Pushing through the Pain,” and blog of the same name on November 21, 2018. Clayton herself suffers from Fibromyalgia, a chronic pain condition, and hopes to bring awareness to the condition.
Fibromyalgia is thought to develop from stress, trauma and/or genetics or a combination of all three. “Fly Girl with Fibro,” is Clayton’s true story of strength and resilience. It is her journey working through
physical, mental and emotional healing and the events that she believes contributed to her developing the relentless condition. Fibromyalgia is still very unknown even though over 3 million people in the US suffer from it.
“I am here to break the stigma of what illness is supposed to look like,” says Clayton. “There are many of us suffering from things we don’t talk about, but sometimes we are accused of faking or over exaggerating our symptoms. I’m here to tell people it is very real.”
Clayton is releasing the book on her birthday and will have a launch party the same day. Wednesday November 21, 2018 from 6-10PM at Points View Boîte 1619 S. 1st St, Milwaukee. Autographed books will be available for sale at the launch event.
