Charles wore a black tee, jeans, and Tennis shoes, it sounded a little basic but you have to see the types of the items he had on. Everything being of quality. The black tee slightly longer then average and fitted on the side, slimfit Balmain denims, and the bred Retro 16's with gold pieces as his accessories. Dressing in quality always looks better. He considers his style timeless, edgy, and global.
Favorite Shopping Locations: thrifting at Goodwill and salvation army's. Also highend online retailers such as www.curstedatl.com
Charles gets his style inspiration from the 90s. Following musical talents such as ASAP Rocky, Kanye West, and Pharrell and researching latest fashion updates by Ronnie Fieg and John Geiger influence his inspiration for style. Influenced by his hometown, the scenery of his everyday activities helps him with his style.
Favorite Item: Charles is actually wearing his favorite items during the interview, his Balmain jeans he had in 2012 and his Retro 16s Air Jordan's. He had these items for a while and they are still in good condition. Timeless items and style.

Lets go back to the days where fighting was over a,
Black marker, or the last cup of kool-aid.
Where fighting was between only whom it had to deal with
Where preschool suns emerge on manila colored paper,
And not who it doesn’t
Pass me the yellow marker,
Where chalk meets the sidewalk
Before hopscotch turned to party hop.
Back so that the lost generation finds you
Passing cooties, instead of STDs
Instead of stressing out about recessions
Concession stands at home games turned into
We need our childhood back;
Little girls, bo-bo's and tu-tus
Let the games begin.
Baby boy overalls with the snot running down his nose.
Where we cared about "time-outs" on Recess playgrounds
Teenage girls best dressed competitions at ball games.
Played so hard, coming home with grass stained knees,
I'm talking forced to eat your vegetables on the table green.
Nowadays you aint sh*t if you aint cop those new jordans
Last week, and the week before or before that young man died over
Back in the day, equal education was something to die for
Four little girls in a double dutch rope, in the middle of the street,
Pass me the green,
Can I borrow your purple marker.
Multicolor laces on Kswiss, three stripes, shelltoes
Some concords.
Violence, gun violence, domestic violence.
Did you happen to get a white magic marker?
For the young girls who still believe in weddings
When waiting for the right one, was the right thing to do.
we have more hoes than pimps do and more dogs than the hound….
Back when hot cocoa fell in love with rosy cheeks kissed by winter time;
When homeboys were shy about asking homegirls for dances;
And white dresses.
But, unfortunately,
But we living in a humane society, right?
Can I dig into your box for a pink marker?
Just before high school valentine's day dances
Now it's demanding, over- romancing
And mama knew about those red popped
cherry marker…..
the color that described your face when the family found out.
Now we got open legs for sale, and fancy new babies coming soon,
Lonely mamas in church pews,
And a box full of excuses of no daddy blues.
Marker….blue….
Boy, have times changed
adapt to the fall of yester-year's generation,
Watch these leaves change
I borrowed your orange,
Back when orange slices satisfied granny's sweet tooth.
Before orange was the only color that suited you…
After little kids carved pumpkins, for pumpkin seeds.
Before realizing black is as empty as your box of markers.
I used your brown.
After realizing my skin is not black.
Nevertheless, it is beautiful.
Just like the other colors I snatched from you.
For the young girls who forget who they are,
Washable.
Buried in makeup and clothes either too fitted or not fitted at all.
For the young boys who haven’t been able to remember it takes
Years to become a man, understand, a high school diploma and a
It seems Crayola has been producing new colors, without me.
Job don’t make you just that.
Dear lost generation, I hope you find me,

Recently, CopyWrite had the honor of attending an event that made us smile. Dream Big 2015 presented by Lead 2 Change.
"Hey. Are you busy July 31st 6-8 I need you and Carsyn to come to this event for my job"
NEED??? That's a strong statement. But with a quick glance at the schedule and a confirmation from Carsyn, I RSVP'd.
Even after saying yes, we were not quite sure what the Dream Big event was all about. We knew Lead 2 Change, was a non-profit organization that worked with youth but how impactful they have been we would soon discover.
As we approached the entry we could see and hear a young girl singing over a microphone. At the door we were greeted by smiling young faces who ushered us to a table where more young people gave us custom pre-pretend name tags. Soon we spotted, the person who had invited us. He welcomed our presence and urged us to look around, eat, mingle, and enjoy the event. As we explored the room, we noticed there were several food stations, a DJ, and a layout of items presented for the silent auction to raise money for the organization. There was even a photo station where you could take silly pictures to document the event. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. But what stood out the most was the amount of youth everywhere, looking bright, purposeful and determined. The feeling just seemed right.
Out of nowhere a change in the music sparked the crowd and a Flash Mob broke out. Dancing and singing ensued, as they coaxed all attendance to enter the presentation hall. In this room we learned the origins of Lead 2 Change, their journey, and heard several testimonials from people who had spent their youth in the organization. The stories told were personal, but all reflections had a binding source. The organization had planted an acorn within these people that was now growing into a tree. This tree was presented as opportunities, skills, but most of all confidence. Where we found the shock in all of this, was the control and responsibilities given to the youth. The young are the ones who sit on a board and make a decision about who should receive grants to spark a change in the community. They hear the presentation, they debate over the options and they vote on the best candidate. This act of control is something that is not often given to the young, so its stimulation of thought is not always tangible. But here we were shown how it works through a video clip. The professionalism and effort was undeniable. These young minds had strong opinions, used logic and communicated with each other gracefully. And they all Thanked Lead 2 Change for it.
So what was Dream Big 2015?
“DreamBig! is an annual grant program that disburses two $5,000 grants to youth groups who respond to the question, “What would you do with a $5,000 grant to make your community better?” DreamBig! challenges young people to devise a project idea that will positively impact their community.” (http://www.lead2changeinc.org/dreambig!.html)
That day we got to see the presentation of the $5,000 awards & the planting of an acorn that will soon grow into something much greater. A positive we could not ignore.
So we just want to say Lead 2 Change #WeSeeYou !!!

Recently, CopyWrite was asked to sponsor a MKE stop on Emmitt James, Hunger Pains tour.
The now Cali based, Milwaukee native, House of Renji artist, shared the showcase with PC the Real, AR. Wesley, CamB, and Weekend Neely. With True Skool inc. on the 1's & 2's receiving 25% of the proceeds for their organization.
The stylistically quirky human that is Emmitt blessed the crowd with tracks from his EP, Hunger Pains, that reflect the true nature of grind and Le' Struggle. But be clear, his execution on the topic is unorthodox and simply refreshing. Expressing thoughts that most of us have wanted to say but didn't have the right words to formulate it.
Songs like ATM Fees, where he bluntly ask "Why I gotta pay to take my own money out?", will make you yeen out loud as if he was giving a testimony in church. PREEEEACH!
Ramen Noodles & Red Wine feat. Genesis Renji, speaks on the hardships of being an adult & trying to make a way. The uncertainty of stability but grasping at dreams reflects on Emmitt's own journey for greatness with his move to L.A. to be a fashion intern & supposedly a barista as well. Making Ramen as a cheap substitute for pasta, fitting a red wine thirst.
As always, Emmitt's relations or situationships with reality or fictional being that is counter part, are questioned from his own conscious. His perspective of "love loss" or "change gains", play through his thoughts in LeftOver Burnt Rice.
As he even performed the tracks with a live band, his jazzy beats and humble subject matter evoked intimacy between him and the crowd. He also released a special aura of comfort, goof and artistry we like to think only a Mil-towner can produce.
Check out Emmitt James Hunger Pains EP and let us know what you think.
