#WeSeeYou (Official Video) LEX ALLEN - “CREAM AND SUGAR”

We've never really needed an excuse for some cream, sugar or honey.

So go watch Lex Allen's newest video for "Cream and Sugar," featuring his NAN family, Webster X with production by Q the Sun.

The sensual and beautifully documented video was created by Cody LaPlant and Damien Klaven and we personally can't get enough of it. With a little bit of creepy twist that make you ask is all that sweet stuff worth it.

Enjoy and watch out for what Lex Allen has next for us. #WeSeeYou and your Sugar, Honey, Ice Tea.

Meraki - Love Songs feat. Yunoshi Lyon

With a smooth jazz background, we can feel the love with this track from Meraki featuring Yunoshi Lyon.

In the track, her soulful voice reminds us that the love of your life should always be close to you and though she might be tired of writing love songs, we're not tired of listening.

Check out the track below.

Respect the Shooters: Cody LaPlant & Damien Klaven

In a world where we tend to focus on the artist on the stage, CopyWrite has always appreciated the men (and women) behind the scenes.

Which is why we will happily welcome to our spotlight, videographers Cody LaPlant and Damien Klaven.

This powerful duo is a force to be reckoned with by themselves but get them together and watch out for the flames. There visuals bring together a whole new outlook onto the story-telling effects that can be seen in video. Taking modern twists on historical landmarks and creating a whole new voice to something that might have felt lifeless before.

With collaborative videos for a list of local creatives such as WebsterX, Ish Darr, New Age Narcissism, Kiings, Antics, Job Jetson, Reggie Bonds and Milwaukee's own Among The Prime fashion collections; we understand the hype to get these videographers on your team.

Check out there 2015 demo reels below and be on the lookout for what 2016 may bring.

#WeSeeYou Streetz & Genesis Renji - The Plug

Gen is the plug. No outlet and with all the corniest attended.

But once again, Genesis Renji has released a track that is skillfully hood, tactfully ratchet and his mash-ups are bossly executed.

As always #WeSeeYou Gen & Streets, listen below.

The House's young king Genesis Renji teams up with EMP's Streetz to bring forth the first offering of the 'SINISTER 6IX' series. Listen to the electrifying remix of Future and Drake's "I'm The Plug".

Cinco - Gotham Feat. CDS & Mozaic (Prod. Mike Regal)

Produced by the homie Mike Regal, Cinco brings us his first and only single off his upcoming EP "Dancing With My Demons" thats ready to be dropped January 24.

What we would call a version of "trip-hop", Milwaukee artist Cinco brings together an unique track that feels like a theme song for an upcoming dramatic tv show. However with verses from Mosaic and CDS, the artists on the track breaks new barriers in hip-hop combining a moody and dark hook with traditional rap verses and some techno inspiration.

Listen to "Gotham" below and stay tuned for more from Cinco later this month.

"Gotham" is the first & only single off the "Dancing With My Demons" EP due out this January. Produced by @Mike2Regal Written by @mustbecinco, @cullensampson, & @MozaicMKE Mixed and masted by Benjamin Allen at M3 Pro Studios

Grandparent's Closet: Code Zero

Introducing CopyWrite’s fashion series, Grandparent’s Closet.

We all have those one-of-a-kind or very unique items that we love to wear. The big question is “where did you get it from?” and with no shame; our fashion editor Vato will say his Grandparents Closet. “If your grandparents we’re as cool as mines when they were younger, then I’m sure you’re familiar with what’s in their closet.”

In this segment, Vato takes one-of-a-kind “vintage” clothing from his relatives closet and gives it a modern twist.

Today we want to share with you a vintage code zero classic old school genuine leather suede jacket giving to Vato by his Great Uncle. The Black in the jacket is leather and suede and forest green in the jacket is all suede with the words "Code Zero". This jacket has gotten a lot of attention.

#WeSeeYou Yung Satori - Ziplock (prod. Maajei Vu)

Here's a new release from Yung Satori, "Ziplock" and there's really only one word we can think to sum up the track, "Dope."

With crazy production from Maajei Vu, this energetic yet smooth track describes Satori's grind to elevate his skills along with his high.

Satori is currently on the road for the Next Gen Tour with his homies Wave Chapelle and Lucien Parker but for now we'll just take a moment to say #WeSeeYou...

Listen to the track below.

This "WEEK" in Hip-Hop...Kendrick Lamar Shakes up with President Obama

So this happened!

This speaks volumes to what is going on in todays society and the culture boom we are trying to promote right here at CopyWrite. To walk with conviction of your truth will not hamper you but take you places where they said YOU could never reach. Thank you to both great men for this inspiring image. We see the Change.

On the Street Fashion - Oby Nwabuzor ( @obyoso )

I’d just arrived to the coffee shop and Oby comes in seconds behind. And as she walked in I promise you her theme song should have been, I’m The Plug while you hear “draped in all designer, draped in all designer” in our Future voice playing in the background.

Black frames, black leather tote bag, black leather gloves, black long fit trench with a black fur collar, blue jean denim with ½ inch cuffs, and black boots! “Oby OhSoFly has just entered the building,” I said with open arms.

Oby style is very hard to be placed in a box. She likes to reference style as a genre, a mixer between business and urban. Because of her family traditions and proper upbringing she was held to a higher standard of presentation. Oby is very clean and neat in her everyday attire but you can see her very cultural background as she represents her Nigerian roots through her style.

Professionalism is key when it comes to picking out her outfits. With a traditional Monday through Friday work life, why not add some style in the business world? And did we mention when she’s not killing the professional world with her style, she’s working with local brands like Mission10Eleven and the House of Renji.

Inspiration for Oby comes from artist like Teyanna Taylor and Janelle Monae, but she continues to create her own lane in fashion. As a true shoe-a-holic we might say, Oby owns a wide variety of shoes such as Jordans, Timberlands, Nikes, and loafers; combined with a more feminine collection of heels from classy to retro, to switch up the game when needed. One of her favorite pieces is this vintage bomber jacket shown below.

Favorite places to shop: H&M, Boston Store, K&G Fashions, for jeans - Levi only

#WCW Yessica Jimenez (Xerione Illustration)

If you haven't heard of this #WCW in 2015, you may need to relearn your alphabet.

In 2015, her "Milwaukee Hip-Hop Alphabet," not only represented MKE's ever growing musical talent but also showcased her skills with a pencil. The alphabet (shown below) introduced some of Milwaukee's artists to the public and even brought together the arts community and the hip-hop community to collaborate more often, and you know we love that!

Yessica aka Xeroine is an illustrator as well as an extremely talented photographer. In her work you can see a mixture of influences from her Mexican roots, urban background, as well as her love for traditional anime and line drawing.

She's always creating and we can't wait to see what she has next for us.

Maybe a mural on the side of a building dedicated to Milwaukee's hip-hop scene? Or a whole gallery of Xeroine Illustrations? Or maybe she will finally be able to finish her alphabet with the final missing letter? Know any hip-hop artist with a 'U' in their name?

Anyhow, see her work below and if you can't wait to work with her, feel free to reach out at yessicajimenezmke@gmail.com or like her facebook page for more updates.
