Zack Clyburn "Beautiful Dreams"

Here is some love streaming from the lower Midwest.

Zack Clyburn, 21 year old Memphis native, video "Beautiful Dreams", reflects positive simplicity at its finest. The tempo reminds us of 90's summer jams and barbecue's, straight kickin' it. His reflection on his aspirations and what really matters is refreshingly dope, compared to the many negative tones we have been filtering in. This young artist is looking for a few connects on his path towards greatness. Reach out if you like what you here, and don't forget to mention CopyWrite sent ya!

MKE Street Style with Rakim Wil

Rakim agrees to meet in front of my home on the porch. As I sit, awaiting his arrival, I hear wheels rubbing the concrete pavement. I look toward the sound and Rakim comes boarding down the block in full speed. He hops off his skateboard as if it wasn’t nothing. The homie was fly, he just skated with $800 kicks on (Yeezy’s); we sit and start the interview.

My 1st question for him was ‘How are you?’ he replies with a familiar phrase by saying "Sensational."

What is your style?

Rakim Wil considers himself to be the street prince. Pink Silk, Polyester, and Shiny Material are what you can catch him wearing. Very different from the usual

Who or what influence your style?

Prince, Theophilus London, Ken Rebel, Luka Sabbat and Ian Connor are influences; when it comes to his personal style.

Whats something you would wear all the time?

Rakim said he will wear his Yeezy’s everywhere. They’re $800 kicks, so why not rock them every chance you get. But he also says he doesn’t have to think about what he has to wear, its already envisioned; it’s a process that is already instilled in the fashion membrane.

Name places you shop to find your style of clothing?

Joann’s Resale, Value Village, H&M at Bayshore and GetBlatzed Vintage.

Rakim wants everybody to know he is a VISIONARY. And ready to share his passion with fashion.

After the interview Rakim wanted to acknowledge some of the individuals in the city he likes to believe has the juice in the fashion industry.

Here’s his top 10:

RIP Aaliyah #RespectTheLegendary

Today marks 15 years since the passing of our Babygirl, Aaliyah.

On August 25, 2001, Aaliyah Haughton, along with eight others, were killed on a plane crash.

Aaliyah's music was genre-defying, relatable and inspired anyone and everyone to be there authentic-self at all times. Her soft and angelic voice over a Timberland beat is an iconic sound that made us move, her energy was felt and her presence was out of this world. And with three solid and breathtaking albums, two released movies, a killer fashion sense and countless other moves to be made; we all wanted to hear and see more from our Babygirl before she left us too soon.

As VIBE dubs this week, Aaliyah Week, CopyWrite wants you to vibe with some of our favorites from the singer. Watch below and let us know what you loved about the Detroit native.

We miss you Babygirl. #RespectTheLegendary

Are You That Somebody was recorded for the Dr. Dolittle sountrack. Aaliyah received a Best Female R&B Vocal Performance Grammy Award nomination for the single.
