JOSH JENKINS- CHOP WOOD, CARRY WATER [PROD.BY SPACECRIMEBEATZ] (Video Submission)

We needed to hear this one.

Sometimes you just have to do the work, put in the time, and feel the struggle.

Josh Jenkins is reteaching us this lesson with his track “Chop Wood, Carry Water”. The video shows Josh solo, just telling us what the “real” is. The practice of artistry here  is the subtle gems piecing together something we know to be fact: You have to live it out.

Where some for a quick fix, we respect this message with much more kudos.

#WeeSeeYou Josh!

Dubb Saq - Dubb is Down (EP Submission)

If heartbreak produces this type of work, babyyyyyyy make it hurt!

Dubb Saq is coming in strong with his EP Dubb is Down. Coming out of a heavy breakup, his music now seems matured and reflective. With a clean 5 tracks he stays on the topic [whoever ol’ girl is must be feeling ‘some type of way’]. It’s clean production. Melodic with cutting lyricism. Its fresh enough for the new era of synthesized hip hop listeners but still structured enough for the seasoned to ride the wave.

Our favorite track without a doubt is “i could never”, because real rap raw. . . WE COULD NEVER! And of course we will be adding it to our #CWApproved Spotify playlist.

When you need some music for the love-aftermath. . . This is the EP for the moment.

A.C. the Ruler - The Perfect Intro/555 (Video Submission)

It’s an aesthetic.

Not just the visuals but the sound. It takes you to a nostalgic place of the not so far past, but maybe the present is too close, and the future, well . . . unknown.

The words are too, reminiscent of days we had much to say but way more to show. It’s eloquent but spacey. It’s hip hop but as poetic as spoken word.

That is the sound as much as it is sight.

It is “The Perfect Intro/555” by A.C. the Ruler.

King Bravo - Rollawood

It’s the chop and screw that got us like “Ooooooookkkkkkayyyy”.

King Bravo is serving up some “down south” inspired bars with a head honcho motif with his single “Rollawood” from his project State of Mine. This track is appropriately placed between shit talking and posturing that flexes the ability to create sounds that make you want to reminisce.

Take a listen while you double cup Lol

Salute.
