Richie Buz - North Side Legend EP

Today's Submission is from 20-year-old Milwaukee native Richie Buz. Now I must admit, I had to sit on this one for a little bit. I wasn't sold on the first listen, but sometimes you have to dig a little deeper and let the tracks play. I even had to hit up a close source for their thoughts.

Where there is still room to grow with delivery,  I believe there is a strong message being pushed by this young act. Let's take a vent session and divulge the information in 'North Side Legend' (EP). There is an educated tactic around this hip-hop motif.
I wonder where it shall take him.

Jabee - Letter 23

“In hindsight, brought a knife to a gunfight”. -Jabee

There is clarity in knowing your struggle and what battles have come with it. It is the growth that shows dominate over all else.  Jabee’s (Oklahoma bred artist) first release of 2018, "Letter 23" is perfectly plastered with punchy bars, strategic content, and a persuasive tone. produced by Trip G, “Letter 23”, comes off the starting block strong, making the 2:03 minute track an easy repeat.

Check it out and let us know what you think. (This just might be our Editor-in-Chief, Dirty’s favorite music submission this month).

Q the Sun - Psychic Spiral (Video)

Q the Sun, is opening our eyes with his video 'Psychic Spiral', laid with his zoned out production, artistry, and mystique.

"The movement of the scenes is meant to emphasize the vibe and progression of the music. I didn’t have the intention of telling story per se, more so wanted to create something that would help the audience engage with the music more" - Q the Sun

Elevating what may be thought as Indian influences in hip-hop, he gives us an alternative appeal to the essence of music.

Check out this video and let us know what you think in the comments.

#WCW Ebony Haynes - Double Dutch to Dreams

My #WCW was picked for multiple reasons. The first being that she’s been popping up on my timeline a lot because she’s on the countdown to get married and I’m definitely a sucker for Black Love coming thru and shining. #Goals #LiveLoveLewis #SorryForBeingACreeper But aren’t they adorable?

When she’s not making me extremely happy for her happiness, Ebony Haynes is just an overall beautiful soul to be around. By day she’s a Program Manager at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and by night, she founded and operates Double Dutch to Dreams. “A movement designed to inspire kids to be kids through the reinforcement of positive images, healthy fun activities and community building [with a] focus on life skills and personal values training.”

Ebony has “always been passionate about working with youth and over the past few years she realized the many disparities hindering their growth. She wanted to find a way to engage youth and young adults to help keep them active and growing to their best selves. Double Dutch was one of many ways she remembers having fun, being active and in the community growing and building with one another.”

I definitely was more of a turner but I definitely would step in the cords when I was feeling brave enough hahaa.

Overall, I can’t get enough of her positive energy, wisdom and the honest glow that radiates from this lady. She has a huge heart that literally shows by a simple conversation and we’re taking a second to appreciate it.

Bonita Jalane - Retro (Video Submission)

It's always nice to catch those Retro feels. You know the Martin, In Living Color like memories where everything was so wavy, colorful, and fresh! Bonita Jalane’s video “Retro” does all of that. Its playful, symbolic, and of course it's nice to see female vocalist on the reminiscent tip. The fashion in the video is Poppin’ too. It just makes us want to go thrifting!

Take a nostalgic moment and check out “Retro”.
