Moses - Not Quite Vegas

We told you he would be back but we couldn't anticipate something this dope. With electronic music that just makes you want to vibe out and get to work; Moses, from Higher Education Records (HER) finally reveals his debut album, 'Not Quite Vegas.'

All mixed and mastered by himself, the local Milwaukee DJ and producer brings together a story of the past five years of his life as he composes his way through love, lost, success and failure. But in every song you can hear the passion as he releases a new emotion and (for lack of better words) a dope beat throughout the whole album.

Because Vegas is not quite home yet; we can't wait till it is. Listen to the album below and let us know what you think of Moses' debut album.

"Not Quite Vegas is my sonic journey through love, life, death of friends and family, happiness, stress, success, and failure over the past 5 years of my existence. It is a wavy, vibey tale of my quest to find my own personal happiness that is “Vegas" - a place where I can live in the now and enjoy life without worrying about the future or dwelling on memories of the past. Each song is reflective of a specific time, emotion, or experience from the last 5 years and complete with meaningful titles and outros that put each song into perspective for the listener. This is what life has felt like since 2011." *All Songs Written & Produced // Moses. Mixing & Mastering // Moses // H.E.R. Mic Kellogg - Tennies

Clearly he has no time to waste on a bad track. In Mic Kellogg's newest track 'Tennies,' the emcee/producer showcases off his skills on an upbeat tempo that basically tells his audience he has zero fu*ks given and he will go his own path.

Mixed and mastered by the homie Mammyth, we could listen to the track all day; peep it below and let us know what you think.

Music Review: Intermission Music by Vato

It reminds me of the days when Pops used to come scoop me in the white Lincoln. Driving down Capital with the music up high but the beats were so smooth in the those days, it never seemed to disturb a soul. At stop lights cars would pull up and the driver would just nod their heads, like “I see you”...yeah reminds me of the good times, that were just the in between times, the ones we forget to notice. The intermissions.

Intermission Music by Vato, brought back that random nostalgia. The nine track project, with its recognizable lyric samples, lucid beats and raw layered production, is perfect for those moments where you just need a little escape within the confines of reality.

The first track “Boxed (BTS)” leads you into the concept of opening up. As the list of songs play through, you can hear a trend of mental stimulation, elevation and observation. “Stress Free Zone” gives the listener a reminder to be a little more joyous in the struggle. Followed by “D.O.O.B.I.E.S.” & “Marry, Marry, Marry”, smoke themed tracks, that are catchy and perfect for a chiefing session. Vato's manish behavior, comes out in a “young” sultry rendition of R.Kelly’s “Your Body’s Callin”, titled “Callin”.

Intermission Music is the kind of project whose references you won’t understand unless you been vibing with the game since young blood, but still it may help some new age music lovers divulge some “thrifty” techniques, something that makes Vato fit into his own niche on the local scene.

We see a growth in Vato’s confidence and look forward to hearing Intermission Music, between all those major moments that need a dose of good vibes.

Hard Times (Prod. By The $pecialist & Outtasite Jetson)

When we hear talent, we appreciate it.

So meet The $pecialist, a Milwaukee producer and artist that recently dropped some heat in our e-mail and though we have never heard of him before we see the potential and suggest you take a listen to the kids instrumental, Hard Times, with the help from his homie Outtasite Jetson.

You can thank us later.

#WeSeeYou Moses - Run (feat. Pat Yo)

When we tell you this man is working, we mean it.

As a producer, the head of Higher Education Records (HER) and probably your favorite DJ, Moses is forever impressing us with his grind. We see it in everything he works at and this is no different in his newest music video "RUN", directed by Matt Bordman and Brian Jude of WhyBoxWhy.

With surreal and trippy visuals, the video matches the energetic vibe of the track and while the music from his upcoming album may not be quite Vegas; we can't help but anticipate dopeness.

Moses' grind doesn't just stop with his work ethic but also with his big heart; as he dedicates the video to Pat Yo, a friend that was lost too soon. And as we all live in this crazy world, we understand the chaos and #WeSeeYou Moses.

Watch the video below and anticipate his debut album, 'Not Quite Vegas' dropping March 14th.

"The World Will Remember Us" Comic Book - King Seale: The Throne Of Light

Mission10Eleven has a lot to say about the world and they’re reading to tell their story.

With plot twists, some very humbling lessons and role models we always wish we had, “The World Will Remember Us” comic book was created to speak on the issues our community faces and bring a conscious awareness to aspects of life we have been through.

Check out an excerpt from King Seale: The Throne Of Light below and today, we will take this journey together so the world will remember us.

King Seale: The Throne Of Light

August 31st, 2035

There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about my family. That I don't desire to be back at home with my wife and my daughter but with the position I'm in as King I can't be so hard on myself. King Light, he paved a great way for the people to finally be at peace. It was enlightening and honorable being by his side during the uprising in 2015. It was hard to see him live his final days even though he was so at peace.

I remember him always telling me that the war was the prime of his life and when I would ask why he would just smile, put his arm around my shoulder and say “because I know the world will be in good hands.” He taught me the importance of leadership and the responsibility of power. I learned how to become a warrior through his philosophy when he took me under his wing and schooled me in the ways of ancient martial arts and energy manipulation. I just never thought that all the lessons he taught me were in preparation to become King.

I’ve been having these visions of the evil that's on the horizon and it's going to take more than just me to defeat them. King Light told me to protect the one who the holds the prophecy, after I address the people for the first time as their King it will be time to bring together the next generation of leaders. We can't allow everything we worked for be taken away by GWA and the council. I won't allow it.

First Class - Anarchy (Official Video)

Fresh (pardon the pun) from Scottie Phreshh & Skyy Phreshh of First Class, a Milwaukee-based music group is the official video for Anarachy.

Anarchy is another track from their upcoming debut album "Peace To The Gods", scheduled to be released this next month. Shot by JSwaqq Productions, the video brings together a view of the city taking the energy of the track to another level visual with some trippy effects.

With dope rhymes and a killer video, we can't wait to see and hear what's next from the talented family duo. Watch the video below and let us know what you think of the boys.

Rose: Visions of Royalty

August 29th, 2035
From what I remember it's always just been my Mom and I. My father abandoned us when I was a baby. The stories she tells about how her life was before the war are so aggravating. Usually they have something to do with my Dad and their time they spent together in Milwaukee where I was born or our brief times as a “family” in D.C.

I don't understand how she's not even slightly upset or bitter about his absence, When I ask her why he left us, she just always smiles and says he had a “responsibility to fulfill that was bigger than us and even him.” That's when I roll my eyes and continue on with my day, I love my Mom with all my heart but I'll just never understand how someone can just leave their family behind, especially in the midst of a war.

California is slightly different from D.C but I’ve adjusted the best I could these last three years. This is my senior year at the Academy and my portfolio has to be on point for my senior photography evaluation. Lately I've been catching some great shots from different rooftops and I've noticed someone with a hooded cloak who has been sneaking around G.W.A's Biotech factories. I want to know what they're up to. Something does seem off about those buildings though, they came out of nowhere. I should do some investigating of my own.
